Top 20 Korean Series

Reminder: This is MY top 20... (*with spoilers)

So I was composing my favorite Korean Series list and it was only supposed to be Top 10. Then I just realized that I won't be able to fit it to 10 since I love a lot of their series, so I've come up to at least 20 (but hey, I can still go on and on on my list!).

Top 20: Princess Hours/Goong
- This is one of the first Korean Series I've watched. I liked the story because it's something new for me. Story about royalty, the struggles of a young prince and a girl who's background is very different from life of a royalty. It moved me, made me fall in love with the characters and kick my sleeping dreamy heart.

Top 19: My Princess
- Well, seems like Goong really made a good impression on me as I once again love a story between a princess and this time with a chaebol. I love her clothes (she dresses really well) being a modern princess. And their chemistry is wonderful, they look good together and it's like falling in love all over again.

Top 18: Secret Garden
- Something different and something new. Normally I don't like body switches, but this is an exception. Hyun Bin was really good here, you'll hate him for being a typical chaebol who's had everything he wanted even before he even think of it. But also feel his struggles, fears and deep love. Sometimes in life, you just wanted to think that there'll be someone out there who'll be willing to give their life for you but afraid that if you find that kind of person, would you want that person to give up his life for you?

Top 17: Sungkyunkwan Scandal
- Another concept that I don't normally like but liked on this series was the guy protagonist was mistakenly thought of as having a different gender orientation. But what made me love this was the lead's brain. He's very intelligent and again coming from a powerful family. I liked how the story developed and how the secrets unfold. Each character give a different spice and therefore making me want to watch them more and more.

Top 16: The Heirs
- One of the most common type of story wherein rich boy meets poor girl and they started to like each other. But what I like about The Heris are the actors - they are all equally good and equally good looking! What I don't like about the story is that Eun-Sang doesn't seem to have that much drive to be morethan what she is. She is intelligent but she just only sees herself as a poor kid who everyone has to pity because she doesn't have much (but that's probably what they just wanted the character to develop - but it doesn't get to me that much).

Top 15: The Master's Sun
- I liked this at first because of So Ji-Sub (He's one of the lead on my favorite Korean movie - Always), then I started liking the story because it's something new for me and something light. The story is a about a woman who can see ghost/spirits and a guy who's personality you will hate the most. How will they fall inlove? That's something you have to watch.

 Top 14: Hearstrings
- Lee Shin (Jung Yong-Hwa) is a snob. He's a great guitar player and is a campus crush. Lee Gyu-Won (Park Shin-Hye) is a skilled gayageum player - korean traditional string instrument. Shin likes his dance professor who has a history with another professor. Then Shin met Gyu-Won - it was a hate at first sight for Shin but as he gets to know Gyu-Won, he started to see her on a different light.

Top 13: Spring Waltz
- Another music related series but this time using Piano. What I like most about this series is the soundtrack song, it moves me and it really felt good to listen to. The story is about this boy (Lee Soo-ho/Yoon Jae-ha) who's afraid of being left by his irresponsible father and a sickly girl (Seo/Park Eun-young) who's happy to have Soo-ho in her life and treat him like a brother. Soo-ho was left by his father on the island where Eun-young lives. They became good friends but when Soo-ho's father returned, he stole Eun-young's saved money for her operation that lead her mom to look for Soo-ho's dad in Seoul. When Eun-young's mom did not return, Soo-ho decided to leave the island and look for his dad himself, but before he can leave, Eun-young found him and decided to come along. A lot of unfortunate things happen until they got separated. Then years gone by...
Top 12: Fated to Love You
- Kim Mi-young/Ellie Kim is a push-over kind of person. She's a nobody at work who's being asked to run errands by her co-workers. While, Lee Gun is  rich guy who's on the verge of proposing to his girlfriend whom he love so much. They met accidentally, and met again during a trip Mi-young won from her office raffle - Lee Gun was ditched by his girlfriend that time when he's prepared for a proposal. Something happened between them that resulted to Mi-young being pregnant. When she met Lee Gun again at her work, she thought of telling him that she's pregnant but decided otherwise. However, fate intervened - when Mi-young went home to the island where she grew up to let her mom know of her situation, Lee Gun was also there because he's proposing to buy the island. And that's where everything started.

Top 11: My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
- Cha Dae-woong is a selfish, self centered aspiring action star who was fooled by the Gumiho to free her as she's locked up on a painting for hundreds of years. The said gumiho is our heroine Mi-ho, a very powerful nine-tailed fox who's actually nice and quite easy to love. However, since our hero is alreay much inlove with the evil girl - he's unable to easily see the woman inside - plus the fact that he's so demn afraid of our heroine thinking that she'll eat him if he does not do as she wants. This is a really good rom-com korean series that's so fetching and really engaging to watch.

Top 10: Pinocchio
- I so love this because the hero is oppa LJS! He's a really great actor and so fun to watch. Choi Dal-po/Ki Ha-myeong's father was a firefighter who's pressumed to die while trying to take a fire out together with his fellow firefighters. However, someone reported that they saw him walking down the street still wearing the firefighter jacket - the witness, a pinocchio. In this modern pinocchio story, when the person who's afflicted with this pinocchio lied - will starts to hiccup. So, the other families were so mad that they thought Ha-myeong's father saved his life and left the others for dead. Until that caused their mom to commit suicide - actually taking Ha-myeong and trying to include him on her suicide. Ha-myeong was saved, unfortunately his mom died, however, in order to live a peaceful life he used a different name and lived with the person who saved him - Choi In-ha's grandfather. Choi In-ha is afflicated with the same pinocchio condition and her mother is Song Cha-ok, a selfish reporter who will twist a story to make it big and more interesting and she's one of the responsible journalist that drove Ha-myeong's mother to commit suicide.

Top 9: Innocent Man/Nice Guy
- Kang Ma-ru is  smart medical student. He's in love with Han Jae-hee, who's ambitious and would like to be morethan just a field reporter. One day, someone called her to give her a scoop, unfortunately that person has other things in mind aside from giving her that big story. Jae-hee fought him and accidentally killed the guy. She then called Ma-ru to ask for help. Reporting this to the police (as it really was) is out of the question because it will ruin Jae-hee's name and potential future. So Ma-ru decided to take the blame and be the one sent to prison. Unfortunately, the time he spent in prison is for naught as Jae-hee found a benefactor who'll help her be lifted from poverty. Ma-ru's now released from prison but he's also a changed man - from a caring, loving person he became cold and is using women to get money from them. The only person that mattered to him right now is his sister who's also sickly. One day, while on a plane, the flight attendant anounced asked if there's any doctor because of a passenger who collapsed. Ma-ru was volunteered by his friend. The passenger is Seo Eun-gi (the heroine), a young chaebol heiress who'e being groomed to take over her father's business - and she's also the step daughter of Jae-hee. And that's when Ma-ru thought of a great way to get revenge on Jae-hee.

Top 8: A Gentleman's Dignity
- A group of guys who's in their 40's. Kim Do-jin is an architect running a buiness with one of his friends Im Tae-san. Do-jin is confident with the ladies, one day while in a cafe on a date with a woman, he saw Seo Yi-soo. She instantly caught his attention. However, unknown to him, Yi-soo is already connected to him through Tae-san - who Yi-soo has a secret like. Unfortunately, Tae-san likes Hong Se-ra - Yi-soo's friend and housemate.
The group of guys also include Lee Jung-rok, the only married guy currently on the group but is so playboy. And, Choi Yoon - a lawyer who's wife died early and is still trying to cope up with the loss. Im Maeri, Tae-san's sister have a huge crush on Yoon and she actually returned from studying abroad because she wanted to pursue Yoon.

Top 7: Playful Kiss
- This is the Korean version of the popular Taiwan series It Started with a Kiss. Oh Ha-ni is a not so bright student who's very much in love with Baek Seung-jo, that is her opposite - very much intelligent student who's very much popular at school. One day, Ha-ni's house collapsed due to an earthquake and Seung-jo's father (who's bestfriends with Ha-ni's father) offered to take them in to their house. Seung-jo's mother was very happy because she longs to have a daugther, and because of that she started to pair her son together with Ha-ni.

Top 6: 49 Days
- A very refreshing story. A story about a girl (Shin Ji-hyun) who's been very lucky with her life, a parents that love her dearly, friends that's always been there and a fiance who's ready to do anything for her. One day, Song Yi-kyung decided to commit suicide for the nth time (she's saved by the way) and caused a huge traffic incident. Unfortunately, Ji-hyun (who's mind was else where) was passing the same way when she slammed in to another vehicle. She's not dead but she's in a coma and her spirit is wondering around. That's when she encountered the Scheduler - since she's not yet dead but also not alive and the accident that caused he to be in a coma is not scheduled, she was given a chance to get her life back by using Yi-kyung's body during the day when Yi-kyung's asleep.

Top 5: Full House
- Lee Young-jae is an actor who's been involved with a few scandals. He secretly loves his childhood friend Kang Hye-won, however, Hye-won is in love with Yoo Min-hyuk - their friend as well. During one of Young-jae's China trips/promotions, he had the same flight with Han Ji-eun (who's been secretly duped by her friends - wherein her house was sold without her knowledge and her savings withdrawn and used - then they send her over to China in order for them to complete the transaction and told her that she won the ticket). Some unfortunate events happened on the flight that made Young-jae hate Ji-eun. But when they arrived in China, the supposed people who'll pick Ji-eun to drive her to the hotel where she's supposed to be book did not arrive and the room not booked. She heard that Young-jae's staying on the same hotel and as a fellow Korean, she knocked on his door to borrow some money. Because Ji-eun's very much persistent, Young-jae gave in and lend her money. When they returned back to Korea, Ji-eun received the shock or her life when the house that she's supposed to own does not belong to her anymore - it's now actually bought by Young-jae's PA from Ji-eun's friends.

Top 4: City Hunter
- Starring Lee Min-ho as the hero named Lee Yoon-sung/Poochai/City Hunter who fights the corrupt governtment as revenge because his father was killed by the 5 government official during the time that his father was serving as Presidential Security that was sent to North Korea to strike back and kill high ranking officials. Yoon-sung returned to Korea using the name Johnny/John Lee - he's so intelligent and was able to pass and work on the Blue House where he meets Kim Na-na who's hired as a bodyguard.

Top 3: The Moon that Embraces the Sun

Top 2: The Princess'

Top 1: School 2013
Grade 2 Class 2 students are the type of class that's hard to handle. There are really intelligent students on their class but there are a lot of problematic students. There's their class president who's one of the lowest ranking student on the whole school. A student who smokes and is a bully (with 2 side kick that is almost as bad as him). A student who's mom dictates how the school should be run. Another who doesn't care about anyone else but herself. A trasferee who has a record and a lot more. So in short, a lot of student and those who have been a student like me, who'd be able to relate to their stories. But what I like most on this series is the story of true friendship, story of teacher and student relationship, struggles of teachers and students and story of school life.
